Allow your bare big toe to sink
deeper into the raging scream.
Allow your sound to leave the notes
carefully arranged among the throngs.
Allow your eyes to watch the bees
in line or dancing dervishly.
Or follow religiously scripts
and listen for what made them tick.
Allow moments you skipped each day
to make you shake-able and late.
Allow winds to take your hair
along with dandelion seed.
You are new ground prepared to sow.
Remember: Readiness is all.
Inspired by Writer's Digest's 2016 April PAD Challenge: Day 5 challenge on "experience or inexperience." (About the song: I am not denying that evil can destroy and does for no apparent reason except the exercise of power. But I'm planting seeds anyway.)
*Note: All April poem-a-day poems are rough drafts awaiting revision.
