Wind Beneath my Wings
Psst!  Be careful. They don’t
GIVE us anything.
We ask until we drop
then take what we need
without permission—
That’s how gains are made.

Game rules, supplies, money
and trucks; chain saws, knives
and fire arms are on
their side, which leaves us with
pick-up sticks, recycling
and books, sore hearts and you.

It won’t be much easier
for you despite your numbers.
(Though the magnitude of
their resistance reveals
they have respect for your
abilities and strengths.)

Please try not to harm them
because that will harm you.
Please aim for the soft tissue—
slingshot to heart and mind
before side arms and butts.
Take your time, please, and win.

Never before have so many
taken off their social
disguises, chosen pronouns,
came to know nature and
themselves.  Let us help
you find the means you seek.

We'll play your favorite
music and write new songs.
Here, eat the food that makes
you brave. Now, be who you
were meant to be.  We’ll stand
with you to heal our wounds.

We'll stand by you to gain
back courage.  We'll provide
what all you say you need.
We can no longer act
without you.  You are the hope
beneath our wings.

As the older generation all we can do is stand by their side. "We'll play your favorite / music and write new songs. / Here, eat the food that makes / you brave. Now, be who you / were meant to be." The lines brought tears. Of course THEY ARE the hope beneath our wings. So, so beautiful and full of love.

Magnitude seems to be the pause for note takes in this day. However love is so expansive we dare not pause to ponder, we just encourage love

Thank you for dropping by my blog today Susan

Much😊💛💚😊love

Yes, the young are the hop beneath our wings, and it is their time now. I love "try not to harm them." Sometimes, when women reach power, they behave in the same way as men, which completely undoes the purpose of women having power. We have different strengths to bring to leading - witness the Prime Minister in New Zeland, her compassion and her immediate addressing of gun laws in response to terror. I so applaud her.

This is my new favorite from you, Susan!❤️ The poem in its own is a bounty of endearment and strength as we struggle to get through these dark times. Yes, we continue to hold onto hope. Beautiful!❤️

You’ve hit the nail on the head, Susan, with the lines:
‘They don’t
GIVE us anything.
We ask until we drop
then take what we need’
and I like the solidarity in:
We'll play your favorite
music and write new songs.
Here, eat the food that makes
you brave.’

be who you
were meant to be. We’ll stand
with you to heal our wounds.... in a perfect world, people should hear this everyday...to heal, to be. That security net is the ultimate platform from which to fly!

How we hope for children to learn from our own experiences so they are better educated to tackle life and not make too many mistakes. However at some point we must let go and say you are on your own and yes they will learn from their experience too, for we must all take responsibility for our own actions.

I see the side Soros supports as more like Goliath, but nice thoughts for children, generally, anyway...
