Fool for Tiles

File:Scrabble tiles en.jpg
A full English-language set.

Easy catch, really.
Reel me in with
A scrabble board
On a table
On a shady
Porch in summer
Or anytime
Anywhere on
Line or right here
Add a chess clock
A bingo pot
Refreshments or
Bait—no matter—
I’ll  bite.

Written for my prompt Poets United Midweek Motif ~ Fool for Poetry.  NaPoWriMo #1.

Maybe we ought to have a game of chess on line one day? or backgammon? As long as it isn't bridge, I'm game for anything :-)
The shady porch sounds sublime. As long as it is not too hot out there.
We've been warned to stay indoors in the UK today and tomorrow: smog from the continent over this country.
A day for games and writing poetry, clearly.
Thanks for the Fool's idea. I enjoyed scribbling around that.

Puzzles are very satisfying..especially when they can sort things out in your head..as neatly as those tiles..an original look at what it means to be a fool for something..and a great prompt to start off our puzzles this week!

I am just the same, but I never would have thought to put it into words like this! Made me smile! Great!

Your poem reminded me that it has been waaay too long since I have played Scrabble. I played a lot of it for a while & really enjoyed it. I understand being a 'fool for tiles' indeed.

...I like poetry games because you can play them on your own. Although I love collaborative poetry...maybe you could consider that for a prompt...provide some lines and we can fill in the blanks:)
