“Humility
and honesty are really the same thing.
A
humble person is simply a person who is
brutally
honest about the whole truth.”
“Twelve-Step Spirituality:
Week 1, Step Two”
(5/31/2016)
To be brutally honest, Truth—to be whole—must
be shared.
Did I say this humbly enough?
This, truth to tell, is a new thought
for me: Humility is Honesty.
But is an honest-to-God human humble?
We stand defiantly to defend Truth.
Did nature want a long-stemmed beauty rose—
dozens of me’s—to rise above the rest?
And say: Look at me standing here waving
my hand. I am the right answer. Pick me?
If I have to be brutally honest
and humble too, we want twelve disciples—
Like Twelve Days of Christmas, to meet and share
mystic knowledge and learn how to find it.
With such a congregation to help us
remember The Whole Truth, we can be humble,
Accept nature’s bouquet encompasses
more than one garden plot, more than one world,
To walk in honestly, humbly holding
and touching that of God in everyone.

Sigh....a bouquet of ALL the flowers, from more than one garden plot, more than one world.........touching that of God in everyone. How beautiful a vision this is. In disasters, we see this openness and reaching out on a small scale. We need to figure out how to transfer this to the global scale.
