Aneurysm

Do You Know the Basics About Brain Aneurysms? – Penn Medicine
Source

Neurosurgeons did not remove
the aneurysm. They cut off
its blood supply by filling it
with platinum coils, and so it
remains. Like so many landfills.
it’s safe today and quiet as
a dormant volcano, breathing
diaphragm deep, forming nurture
that bubbles up from the core where
water and air mix with blood cells
and flow past the danger zones. Safe
for now. A system to build on,
a playground for our children. Walk
without concern, walk joyfully.
And think of the mercies: early
warning systems, non-intrusive
operations, doctors happy
at their piece-work pace, more for less
each success a miracle with
hidden magic, ceaseless prayer.

  1. A confluence of good things: that they diagnosed it quickly, fixed it non-invasively, and you returned home so soon. It is amazing the new ways they have of treating this. Glad it is quiet now, "like so many landfills."

  2. Susan, I echo Sherry's comment. Am so glad there is new technology to help in treatment. Wish you a quick recovery and good health. Take care.
