How My Garden Grows

source

A poem flowers in my garden,
spreading pollen and scent
to anyone who lingers.

It may lead to strata beneath
or beyond reality, but
its words—its whorls of petals—

take us to where we want to go,
to where we must go
given this world and time.

  1. A poem is as delicate as a tender flower as well as a hard reality. All inclusive. Its words " take us to where we want to go, / to where we must go / given this world and time." So wonderfully expressed.

  2. May everyone's gardens be populated with many flowers--each of them being a poem. Your poem expresses your thoughts beautifully.

  3. to where we must go
given this world and time. - it seems like we can only go there with poetry... it gives wings...albeit small, ineffective ones...but soar we can and must!!!

  9. Ahhhhh, that's lovely how you referenced Andrew Marvell in your closing--it made me smile big. But you are never coy, and have a marvelous way of expressing just about anything you put to paper, including this lovely poem.
