Creation

How beautiful to resemble
what comes through us to be
marvelous how it carries us.

Beautiful how we grow toward
their freedom, their air, their own legs
watch them feed, play, wash and move on.

Watch me wash and feed and join them
in play that shapes and tempers them
before setting them loose to thrive.

Loosen the frame so we can play,
make mistakes, get dirty, and grow
so we can romp toward the source.

Watch me wash and feed and join in
with fearless play, pad and pen, and
butterflies and dandelions.

Beautiful how it carries us
what we build from inside of us
what comes through us to be.

  1. It is a marvelous journey to carry our young and partake in the daily life that leads them on their own. This is absolutely lovely Susan! Those last two lines are glorious!

  3. I love the play that tempers them, then sets them free to thrive.

  4. Loosen the frame so we can play,
make mistakes, get dirty, and grow—
so we can romp toward the source.”

A childhood for all. Beautiful, Susan.
