Not Humpty Dumpty

from the Rider-Waite tarot deck

Three choices at the precipice:
To turn back and go home, to leap,
to stand still and take in the view.

I rue learning how not to fall,
a caution that prevents breaking
and finding the inner wholeness.

There must be other ways to be
stretched to the limits and reborn.
At cliff’s edge, I have three choices,

maybe more: If I rise up
above the airy intellect
and wait for the invitation.

  1. This poem really speaks to me. I have made all three chopices....I am on the third one now. LOL.

  2. To leap, but not fall, would be the greatest trick of all. I think I'd be the type to take in the view... far away from the edge.
