In April

Warm showers break up  
cold sunny days as
spring pushes itself
into awareness,
blossoms erupt
pink, yellow, and white,
and trees unfurl green
from their fingers.
 
Enter baby showers
and welcomings,
memorials and
earth days,
poetry readings,
protests, and
Passover and Easter.
 
Life flings
off sleep
and hustles 
all existence
into action
while I try
to slow down and watch.

    I love this state of being a witness to all happenings. My favorite lines : "spring pushes itself / into awareness," Awareness is everything I feel.

    I enjoyed the positives. The showers, the welcomings, earth day, etc. It is important to be able to focus on, and watch, the blessings that April brings. Thank you for this.

    I like the contrast of spring hurrying up as you try to slow down and watch. I think often of that magnificent magnolia tree outside your window, that fills the whole frame with beauty in spring. Wow.

    It does seem like life is marching on at a furious pace on one side and on the other I am just standing by...there is the hustle and the poetry and nothing is stopping while on the other side, I feel frozen wondering how to fit into it all...
