🌹On April Fools’ Day, a happy poem burstinto the world. Its purpose prohibitedreference to Russia’s war on Ukraine,
bloodied bodies there and elsewhere, climate disaster, hate, oppression, racism,
sexism, fascism, and cruelty to animals.
🌹Written on April Fools’ Day, the happypoem deliberately took life, liberty and
pursuit of happiness for granted.
This is no joke, but a reminder of truthdisguised by violence and turmoil. What's true for some, is possible for all.
🌹The happy poem is a heart full of love,a core we can act from and rest in daily. We hold this respite despite all. We plantmemorials over the dead when peace time allows. We imagine ourselves feeding roots of peacedeep down where happiness lives.
🌹For the happy poem, see Earth on Earth.

I loved the happy poem - and this poem, too, which reminds us to be grateful for all the good things still going on everywhere in parallel to the bad. I love "the happy poem is a heart full of love", and those roots "deep down where happiness lives."
ReplyDeleteLovely blog
ReplyDeleteDeep down where happiness lives... we do all we can, it seems, to make sure it bubbles up to surface, less and less... it is hard to keep holding on to hope, Susan, but your poem strikes an encouraging note...
