Shared beauty expands
like rumors or poison ivy,
but it is beauty.
Found in wild nature
or finely cultured gardens,
beauty restores heart.
Heart, courage’s core,
when shared, resurrects the hope
needed to find beauty.
Anywhere. Yours. Mine.
Let’s spread it as if bedrock
to build on. Beauty.

Yes, "beauty restores heart." Today, heavy-hearted, I went to the beach and wathed the waves rolling in. They LIFTED me, as they always do. Thanks so much for this beautiful poem, my friend. Thanks for linking at earthweal.
ReplyDeleteA fine bedrock it is, too! Is that photo from Hawaii?
ReplyDeleteBeauty is heart-bedrock, the foundation upon which a useful and joyous relation with earth and each other is possible. The ability to hope. Well done, friend.
ReplyDeleteThe photo reinforces your words--nature is everywhere, and everywhere to be cherished.
