Two Girls in a Rowboat, Winslow Homer 1876–80 |
My body claims both mind and soulfor the purpose of healing. Who are youto want events and writing to go onwithout pause when I need you more? Bodydemands answers. More, it demands good time.Close both your eyes, it says, close them and focus.
Earth’s body also refuses to give
while it heals. Gravity heightens, absorbingsun, water, and all the gravel underthe trash. Let me heal, it says. Stop asking
for anything. Is this too much to ask?
Earth starts breathing and absorbs nutrients.
Don’t argue. Rest. Observe beauty passing.
Sniff scents close to the ground. And stop waiting.
My blog poems are rough drafts.

The earth indeed needs time to heal, when will humans give her room to heal..for when she heals we heal...we are co-dependent...sigh..
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful, wise and true. The body - ours and Mother Earth's, reaches a point where it needs the demands to stop so it can recover. I think Mother Earth must be as tired and exasperated as I am these days. Smiles. Always lovely to read you, Susan.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, Susan.
