Where We Drink

Seventeen is random,
but nature is necessary.
To drink from a metaphor
is our goal.

A juicy metaphor, a jelly donut
of a figure around the waterfall
where we once buried old rock candy.

It didn’t grow or dissolve
underground, it hibernated
in seventeen sweet water caves
where now we drink.

Writer's Digest's 2023 April PAD Challenge: Day 11

For today's prompt, we have our second two-for-Tuesday prompt, which means you get two prompts, and they are:

    1. Write a form poem, and/or...
    2. Write an anti-form poem.

Says ROBERT LEE BREWERBy form, I'm thinking of the various poetic forms, but it's completely fine if you've thought of another interpretation of form. Also, if you want to peruse possible poetic forms, click here to find more than 100 poetic forms.

My blog poems are rough drafts.
